Privacy notice

No cookies, no ad trackers, no third-party scripts. Effective November 7, 2026.

In short

LexBrief Insights sets no cookies, loads no advertising or social media trackers, and loads every font, image and script from its own server. It counts visits anonymously so the author can see which articles are read. It does not sell or share personal information, and it does not build profiles of visitors.

What is measured

When a page loads, a small first-party script sends an anonymous record to this site's own server: the page address, the referring site and any campaign tags in the link, the screen width, browser language and time zone, a general device and browser type, how far the page was scrolled and how long it was open, page speed measurements, and interactions with site features (for example search terms typed into site search, shares, saves and clicks on links to other sites).

To count unique visitors without cookies, the server combines the visitor's IP address and browser string with a random value that changes every day, keeps only a short one-way code made from them, and discards the daily value. The IP address itself is not stored by this measurement, and the code cannot be linked across days or used to identify anyone.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

If a browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the measurement script sends nothing at all.

Stored on this device only

The site remembers a light or dark theme choice, the text size, and articles saved for offline reading in the browser's own storage. That information never leaves the device and can be cleared at any time in the browser's settings. The site also uses a service worker to keep pages available offline.

Share buttons

The X, Facebook and LinkedIn buttons are ordinary links. Nothing from those companies loads on this site, and they receive information only if a reader taps a button and opens their page. The Instagram and TikTok buttons use the device's own share sheet or copy the link.

Hosting

The site is hosted by IONOS. Like any web host, IONOS processes standard server logs (including IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect its network, under its own privacy policy.

Retention

Anonymous measurement records are kept for up to 13 months and then deleted. Aggregated totals may be kept longer.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is sent from this site's server to Kit (kit.com), the email service that stores the list and sends the newsletter, under Kit's own privacy policy. This site does not keep the address. Kit sends a confirmation email first, and nothing else is sent unless the link in it is tapped. Kit may record whether newsletter emails are opened and which links are clicked. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and a request to info@rocalaw.com removes an address at any time. The address is used only for the newsletter and is never sold or shared.

Email

If you email the author, your message and address are used only to respond. Please do not send confidential information about a legal matter by email.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
